Friday Focus - February 24, 2012

• Our 4th graders are taking the FCAT Writing test next week.  Let's all send our positive thoughts and energy their way.  Let's go 4th graders! 
• PLCs are scheduled for next Thursday afternoon. 
• Read Across America Day is next Friday.  It is also the day honoring Dr. Seuss.  The Library Lady will be here that day for Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd graders.  How will your class be celebrating reading?

Friday Focus - February 17, 2012

• No School on Monday!
• February's Birthday Table and Super Citizen Ceremony will be on Tuesday.
• 3rd Graders will be talking their Portfolio Assessment on Tuesday through Thursday.

Friday Focus - February 10, 2012

• Saturday Camp begins tomorrow for select 3rd, 4th and 5th grade students. 
• Falcon Express articles are due to Mrs. Olstein next Thursday.  I am emailing the newsletter to parents so more of them are now reading it.  It would be wonderful if they were to find out information from each of the grade levels (I'm trying to be subtle here).
• PLCs are scheduled to meet next Thursday afternoon.  It is OK if your PLC agrees to meet on another day as long as you are documenting your meeting and having everyone sign in.  
• Oakland Park Kiwanis will be here next Friday afternoon to honor the Terrific Kids that teachers chose for the 2nd marking period.  We will call for you to send your Terrific Kids to the cafeteria at 1:00.

Friday Focus - February 3, 2012

• I'm not sure if you saw the Sun Sentinel rankings of the schools in Florida, but we were ranked #265 out of 2976 schools.  That puts us in the 91st percentile!  
• There will be a Faculty Meeting on Monday at 2:15.
• Class/Club Pictures on February 7.  
• Report Cards go home on Wednesday.  This is also a Team Leader day.
• Honor Roll assemblies are next Friday: 4th Grade at 8:15, 5th Grade at 9:00, and 3rd Grade at 9:45.
