Friday Focus - August 26, 2011

• We made it!  Great job everyone on a wonderful first week of school.  We are all adjusting to changes and new responsibilities, but I feel confident that our students thoroughly enjoyed their return to school.  I appreciate all of your efforts in making this such a positive learning environment.  
• Thank you to those teachers who jumped on the Superhero theme this past week.  I really enjoyed the bulletin boards for 4th grade and outside Mr. Handanyan's classroom.  Mrs. Gaus even had her students create "Super Students" similar to the activity we did last week.
• Please remember that during emergency drills you need to hold up a green card when all of your students who are scheduled to be with you are physically with you.  A red card alerts us that there is a student or students who are supposed to be with you but are not.  You would not hold up a red card for students assigned to Speech or VE during a drill.
• As was discussed at last week's faculty meeting, please ensure that you are only making copies of necessary items.  Color copies should be limited and document cameras should be utilized whenever possible.  We will be having a training very soon in how we can utilize our document cameras and projectors more efficiently.   
• Teachers, if you have not done so already, please remember to email me your daily schedule by the end of the day today.
• Teachers, your laptops (personal and student) need to be secured when you leave at the end of each day.  Please place them in a cabinet drawer.
